3rd Grade
Third graders have been working on their architect skills by creating EXTREME DREAM HOUSE designs! Students looked at wild houses around the world and then came up with a design for a house of their dreams! Students drew on paper first and then created the drawing on our new digital drawing app ProCreate! This new app is very complicated and is a lot to learn, but they have done such a great job learning all the functions!
4th Grade
4th Graders have been web designers for the past two weeks, working on their EMOJI DESIGNS! We talked about the ways people communicate and express themselves. The language of the modern world is EMOJIS! Students created unique emojis that express something about themselves, that have never been created before! Students drew their designs on paper and added color with colored pencil. We talked about the word VALUE in art, and how it means the lightness and darkness of a color. By adding value we make our drawings look 3-Dimensional. Students are now learning how to use our ProCreate digital drawing app to turn their emojis digital! Stay tuned for final products after Thanksgiving!
5th Grade
5th Graders have been working extremely hard on their Basketball Hoop Designs! Students learned about artist Victor Solomon who creates stained glass basketball hoops. Students used his work as inspiration to design their own! We also learned about the words REPETITION and RHYTHM in art. Students chose to repeat certain objects in their work to make it more interesting. Students drew their design on paper first, then drew it on ProCreate, our digital drawing app! They are masters of this new app and I am so proud of how quickly they have picked it up. Their designs are extremely creative and I am so excited to glue their final designs onto real mini basketball hoops that we got from the dollar store!
