I am so excited for another productive and creative year here in the LP art room! We have started the year off right with two school wide collaborative art projects! Collaborative projects give students the chance to work together on one common goal, rather than a small personal project! One display is not hanging yet, but check out our process on both projects below! Stay tuned next week for pictures of us getting started on our first personal projects!
This year my goal is to be sharing more frequently on our LP Instagram as well! I kind of dropped the ball on our Instagram last year, but will be trying to share more often! You can find our page at @LPArtRoom. It is a lot easier to share quick photos and videos this way, and you can see what we're doing daily, rather than at the end of the week! Students without photo releases will not be pictured. If you would rather your child not be featured on our LP Instagram OR this blog, please let me know via email: ashley_ryan@eastiron.monroe.edu
Tiny Art Show
On the first day of art, LP students viewed Tiny Art installations by artists at the “Tiny Art Show” , a community art project in Provo, Utah. We were so inspired we decided to make our own Tiny Art. Using a magnifying glass to get a closer look at details, students drew something that would tell me a little about them!
Collaborative Project:
Positive Words to Describe LP Students
3rd and 4th graders have been working on a collaborative project focusing on how awesome LP is! First, we talked about abstract art. We reviewed lines, shapes and patterns, and students created an abstract piece of art while practicing our painting routines. This was a chance for them to just have fun with it and see where their paintbrush takes them! Next, students worked as a group to come up with positive words that describe LP students. We walked about BORING vs. JUICY words. Students came up with so many interesting words to describe how awesome they are! I am working on assembling the words to be displayed in our Music hallway. Stay tuned for a finished display!
